Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead our design engineering team. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

  • The role will involve managing a team of engineers, overseeing the development of design solutions, and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standard.
  • Key responsibilities include:
    • Developing and implementing design methods and tools
    • Ensuring cost-efficient design
    • Integration and connectivity of designed solutions/products to other disciplines
    • Fulfillment of stated requirements
    • Competence development & resource management within own team
    • Performance management for own team
    • Preparing the work assignment and monitoring plan for the Basic/Detail engineering team to ensure the alignment with the project objectives, schedule, quality and budget.
    • Reporting concerns in the project such as project budget and its allocation, resourcing, competence requirements to ensure project execution within the required time and budgeted hours to the Line Manager.
    • Leading the project team to ensure the resolution of discipline issues in a timely and effectively manner. Verifying and managing contractual requirement and inputs for the design works in the project.
    • Assigning the design work like deliverable and activities to each engineer and distributing necessary information to execute his design engineering work.
    • Coordinating with other disciplines, client, vendors and engineering subcontractors to ensure design engineering work and output will meet the project objectives.
    • Understanding and discussing special requirements of the project with the team to propose alternate solution and cost down ideas. Proposing alternatives to client with technical justification.
    • Responsible for Preparation/updation of list of deliverables for different activities in the project.
