Job Title: Strategic Buying Lead

About the Role:

The Strategic Buying Lead will oversee the development and implementation of procurement strategies to drive efficiency and cost savings.

  1. Develop comprehensive buying plans that optimize procurement processes, taking into account market trends, supplier performance, and organizational objectives.
  2. Lead a team of buyers in acquiring goods and services, ensuring timely delivery and favorable terms.
  3. Negotiate contracts with suppliers, leveraging industry best practices to secure optimal pricing and service levels.
  4. Monitor market dynamics and vendor capabilities to inform strategic decisions and maintain long-term partnerships.
  5. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align buying activities with business goals, driving growth and profitability.
  6. Evaluate and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in apparel buying and product management, with a proven track record of driving results.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Demonstrated analytical and decision-making abilities, with a focus on data-driven insights.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, industry best practices, and procurement software.
