Job Title: Heavy Fabrication Production Manager

Job Description:
  • Manage production teams and contract workforce to ensure effective planning, organization, and execution of production activities within the plant.
  • Develop overall project scheduling with fabrication management on a macro level and execute projects with the team.
  • Report monthly, quarterly, and annual production plans and implement them on the shop floor with efficient supply processes to meet company objectives by minimizing costs and maximizing inventory turns.
  • Establish systems and standard operating procedures for all activities within the fabrication perimeter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor progress of work and address issues as needed (e.g., resource reallocation, job sequencing, operational/technical issue resolution).
  • Assist in identifying, investigating, and resolving equipment/tooling/process issues. Implement 5S principles.
  • Ensure effective and efficient utilization of personnel and equipment (e.g., reduction of setup and cycle times).

Requirements:

  • Minimum 25+ years of experience in manufacturing heavy fabrication activities.
  • Excellent knowledge of fabrication equipment like pressure vessels, hydro project equipment, cement, and power plant equipment.
  • Through knowledge and experience in manufacturing drawing studies.
  • Excellent knowledge of welding processes like SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and SAW.
  • Excellent knowledge of welder qualification processes, WPS/PQR/WPQR preparation, and ASME/DIN/JIS standards.
  • Ability to identify and analyze technical problems in manufacturing activities.
  • Excellent knowledge of materials like CS, alloy steel, SS, P11, P22, and P91.
