Fiscal Oversight Specialist

 

About the Role:

This position entails overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting finalization, budgeting, forecasting, and in-depth analysis. The successful candidate will analyze financial performance, identify trends and variances, and provide actionable insights to senior management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Oversee cost accounting activities, tracking fuel costs, maintenance expenses, and operational efficiencies.
  • • Implement strategies for cost control and reduction without compromising plant performance.
  • • Analyze and report on key cost drivers and KPIs, such as variable and fixed O&M costs per MWh.

 

Financial Analysis & Reporting:

  • • Monitor financial metrics specific to the energy sector.
  • • Collaborate with plant operations to create accurate financial forecasts.

 

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:

  • • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial and industry regulations.
  • • Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required.
  • • Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or finance along with professional accounting qualification (CA).
  • • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance in the core energy sector or power industry.
  • • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.

 

Requirements:

  • • Proficiency in accounting software, Advanced Excel, and ERP systems.
  • • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected changes and demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
  • • Language: Command over English, Telugu, and Hindi.

 

Additional Skills:

  • • Understanding of fuel efficiency ratios, heat rates, capacity utilization, and Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE).
