  • About the Job:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled Storage System Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Mainframe storage subsystems, architecture, and management.
  • The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of our storage infrastructure.
  • Key responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining Mainframe storage subsystems, as well as performing storage capacity planning and provisioning.
  • Ongoing tasks also involve monitoring storage performance and resource utilization, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, and optimizing data placement.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with system administrators, database administrators, and application teams to support data backup and recovery operations and data migration projects.
  • A key aspect of this role is developing and maintaining documentation, procedures, and standards for storage administration tasks.
  • Furthermore, the successful candidate will provide technical support and assistance to internal teams and end-users, troubleshooting and resolving storage-related issues.
">Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and/or equivalent military experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Mainframe storage subsystems, architecture, and management.
  • 8+ years of experience with storage management software and utilities such as DFSMS, DFSMSdss, and DFSMSrmm.
  • 8+ years of experience with storage virtualization technologies and concepts, including DASD, VTS, and SAN/NAS storage provisioning.
  • 8+ years of experience with storage networking protocols and technologies, such as FICON, Fibre Channel, and SCSI.
">Preferred Qualifications:
  • IBM Certified Specialist - Storage Technical V2 or equivalent certification in Mainframe storage administration.
  • 5+ years of experience with Mainframe virtualization technologies such as z/VM and z/Linux.
  • 4+ years of experience utilizing DevOps practices and tools for Mainframe storage administration and automation.
