Senior Tax Specialist

Job Summary:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and file federal, state, and local tax returns with accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage the full cycle of tax assignments from planning to completion.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to resolve complex issues and support tax planning objectives.
- Prepare and review corporate, partnership, and international tax forms.
- Address and resolve IRS and state tax notices while minimizing client risk and penalties.
- Communicate directly with IRS and state tax authorities to manage audits and resolve issues.
- Maintain strong client relationships through clear updates and timely support.
- Lead and mentor junior team members in tax law changes and industry best practices.
- Research new IRS laws and regulations, prepare necessary documentation, and ensure updates are reflected in compliance processes.
- Test tax products for accuracy, identify/report errors, and collaborate with technical teams to update them in line with new laws.
- Drive process improvements through automation and technology.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Certification: Enrolled Agent (EA) or similar professional certification.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in US tax preparation and filing, including individual, corporate, and partnership filings.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax/accounting software such as ProSeries, CCH, UltraTax.
