About the Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Airport Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of airport infrastructure design, with expertise in geometric design, grading, earthworks, and simulation.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of international aviation and road design standards, with experience working on high-profile projects worldwide. They will also be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, AviPLAN, BIM (Navisworks), and AutoTURN.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Airfield Infrastructure: Prepare detailed geometric designs for runways, taxiways, aprons, stands, airside roads, access roads, and parking layouts.
  • Develop Grading Plans: Create plans for grading, cut-and-fill calculations, and earthworks balance for airside and landside areas.
  • Produce Design Drawings: Develop design drawings and Bills of Quantities extracted from Building Information Modeling (BIM) models.
  • Design Signing & Marking Layouts: Design airfield and landside signing & marking layouts in accordance with international standards.
Simulation & Modeling
  • Aircraft Movement Simulation: Use AviPLAN for aircraft movement simulation, apron/stand clearance checks, and taxiway layout validation.
  • GSE Simulations: Conduct Ground Support Equipment (GSE) simulations to optimize apron operations and gate service layouts.
  • BIM Tools: Apply BIM tools (Navisworks, Civil 3D) for 3D coordination, clash detection, and multi-discipline integration.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Certification: Specialized training in airport/transportation design software is an asset.
  • Experience: At least 4 years of experience in airport or transportation infrastructure design.
