Technical Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager to lead and deliver projects in data engineering and analytics. You will manage cross-functional teams to execute data platform, pipeline, and analytics initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and timely delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Plan, execute, and deliver technical projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Data Pipelines and Analytics Workflows: Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and analytics workflows.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, product, QA, and operations teams to define project requirements and success metrics.
  • Cloud Data Platforms: Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Project Management Tools: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Agile Methodologies: Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Project Tracking and Reporting: Track project progress using tools like Jira, Confluence, and report status to stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication: Proactively identify and resolve project blockers and dependencies.
  • Documentation and Stakeholder Management: Ensure all technical documentation is current and aligned with project goals.
  • Communication and Facilitation: Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Vendor and Contractor Management: Manage third-party vendors or external contractors when applicable.
  • Process Improvement: Advocate for continuous improvement in processes, tools, and team efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in project management within a technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or Waterfall).
  • Proficient with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
