A Global Accounting startup has given us a mandate to hire a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the US.

Responsibilities include:

  • Bookkeeping and Financial Records Management- Maintain and manage accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements for clients based in the United States.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial data regularly.
  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing reports.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • US Tax Compliance & Reporting- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns (income tax, sales tax, payroll tax, etc.) in accordance with IRS guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with US tax regulations, filing deadlines, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist clients with tax planning, minimizing tax liabilities while maximizing legal deductions.
  • Review and analyze tax notices and correspondence, assisting clients with resolution.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Advisory- Assist clients with compliance requirements related to IRS, state agencies, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support in financial audits, tax audits, and related assessments.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Cross-Border Taxation and Advisory- Assist in advising on cross-border tax implications for US entities working globally.
  • Provide insights on withholding taxes, foreign investments, and treaty benefits, where applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • CPA or EA (Enrolled Agent) qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Candidates pursuing CPA/EA are welcome.
  • Professional Experience: 0-3 years of experience in US bookkeeping, tax preparation, or financial compliance is desirable.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, IRS regulations, and state-specific tax laws is essential.
  • Fresh graduates with strong knowledge of US taxation and accounting practices are encouraged to apply.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting and tax software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, TurboTax, Lacerte) is required.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and US reporting standards is necessary.
  • Ability to prepare financial statements, manage ledgers, and support audits is expected.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are required.
  • Strong attention to detail with high accuracy is necessary.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and internal teams are essential.

We offer an attractive compensation package that includes a salary range of 10 LPA to 20 LPA plus incentives based on performance.
