About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Solutions Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing accurate 2D and 3D rooftop solar designs using SketchUp.

This is a technical role requiring expertise in solar energy solutions and a strong understanding of rooftop solar project requirements, shading considerations, and structural layouts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D rooftop solar designs in SketchUp, taking into account site surveys, roof dimensions, and structural drawings.
  • Model solar panels, mounting structures, rooftop obstacles, and cleaning/maintenance access points with precision.
  • Use the mounting structure library to design panel layouts meeting technical and structural requirements.
  • Identify and incorporate rooftop obstacles into the design, ensuring efficient and practical solar solutions.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in measurements and modeling.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in SketchUp solar design, particularly for rooftop PV projects.
  • Strong understanding of rooftop solar project requirements, shading considerations, and structural layouts.
  • Ability to interpret technical inputs (site surveys, roof dimensions, structural drawings) into workable models.
  • Familiarity with solar mounting structures and their application within designs.
  • Excellent attention to detail for accurate modeling and measurements.
  • Good visualization skills to create professional design presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Sketchup and Skalion software.
  • Knowledge of solar engineering basics including tilt, azimuth, orientation, shading, and generation estimates.
