Job Title: Commodity Management Specialist



About the Role:

The primary objective of this position is to develop and execute procurement strategies for logistics services that ensure optimal value for the organization.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Strategy & Planning
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for logistics services aligned with the global strategy and the company's supply chain goals.
  • Conduct spend analysis to identify cost savings opportunities and efficiency improvements.
  • Scope and demand mapping in collaboration with all internal stakeholders within the organization.
  • Supplier Sourcing & Contract Management
  • Identify, evaluate, and select LSPs for transportation and freight forwarding, in alignment with the strategy.
  • Closely align with the global and local commodity teams and stakeholders, ensuring pooling of demand to negotiate the best freight rates and deliver value to the business.
  • Prepare long-term and short-term negotiation plans and document them in the negotiation calendar.
  • Negotiate contracts, service-level agreements, and pricing terms to optimize cost and service performance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and international trade laws.
  • Supplier Relationship & Performance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with LSPs, in close alignment with the global commodity teams for cross-country suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance against KPIs, address service issues, and drive corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with vendors to ensure service excellence, in collaboration with the global commodity teams and their global monthly or quarterly business review meetings.
  • Market Intelligence and Risk Management
  • Monitor global and regional market trends, fuel price fluctuations, BAF, and regulatory changes.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in logistics operations and supplier networks.
  • Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions.
  • Ensure a no sole supplier strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with all stakeholders within the internal business units to define strategies.
  • Arrange half-yearly reviews together with business units and vendors.
  • Collaborate with business units for budget planning and cost tracking.
  • Sustainability
  • Drive sustainability initiatives along with business units to achieve organizational emission reduction targets.
  • Ensure carbon footprint assessments are completed for all major vendors.
  • Ensure external sustainable audits are conducted for key vendors to ensure compliance.
  • Digitalization
  • Conduct tenders, eBidding & auctions through digital tools.
  • Drive digitalization projects to bring visibility, quality, and adherence to standard operating procedures by LSPs.


This role requires a highly skilled professional with excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, logistics, and supply chain management, with a strong understanding of market trends and risk management principles.
