About the Role:

An experienced journalist is sought to join our global editorial team covering the ferroalloys and bulk ores markets with a particular focus on India.

The successful candidate will report to the Ferroalloys Associate Director and work alongside industry-leading journalists and price reporters.

About the Team:

We provide price transparency across the global fuel supply chain including the Spot, Wholesale Rack and Retail markets.

We enable customers to buy and sell energy commodities with confidence using multi-platform access to accurate data, real-time news, powerful software and educational events.

We listen to what the energy community needs and respond with flexible and easy-to-use products. Navigating world fuel markets is complex – we make it simpler.

You Will:

  • Report ferroalloys and bulk ore prices on a weekly basis, with a particular focus on India.
  • Help launch new ferroalloys and bulk ores price assessments, define price specifications, gather market feedback.
  • Generate news content on the ferroalloys and bulk ores markets working closely with reporters in Africa and Europe.
  • Periodic pieces on topical industry issues such as regulatory/policy developments, geopolitical issues, investment, project pipeline, ESG etc.
  • Maintain strong client and industry relationships ideally bringing these relationships from prior roles Continually share and source market intelligence.
  • Engage actively in business development assisting our account managers in the sales process through maintaining sales pipelines and assisting in the sales process.
  • Be a public face of the organization in the ferroalloys space via client/stakeholder engagements industry presentations media interviews content marketing.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years experience in the steel or steel raw materials industries and/or markets.
  • Experience in covering ferroalloys bulk ores or related markets as a journalist analyst or price reporter.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills demonstrable impact and influence skills.
  • Excellent ability to present and to lead public discussions e.g. moderating panels at conferences
  • Strong quantitative skills advantageous
  • Exemplary written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a team while sometimes operating alone
  • Ability to manage others while maintaining personal output
  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering would be advantageous
