Job Title: Reinsurance Underwriting Manager

At our company, we are looking for a seasoned Reinsurance Underwriting Manager to lead our underwriting operations. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for evaluating, analyzing and interpreting Treaty & Facultative contracts across multiple business lines.

- Lead the evaluation, analysis, and interpretation of Treaty & Facultative contracts across Property, Casualty, Specialty, and niche business lines.

- Perform risk assessments, portfolio analysis, and pricing evaluations in accordance with underwriting guidelines and company risk appetite.

- Develop and refine underwriting models, rating methodologies, and risk assessment tools to enhance decision-making accuracy.

- Manage and mentor a team of underwriting analysts and associates, ensuring high-quality output and timely support to senior stakeholders.

- Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous learning within the underwriting team.

- Collaborate with global reinsurers, brokers, cedants, and internal underwriting managers to structure and negotiate reinsurance placements.

- Support business development initiatives by providing underwriting expertise for new opportunities and complex deals.

- Leverage AI/ML-driven analytics to enhance underwriting efficiency, improve risk selection, and optimize pricing accuracy.

- Drive automation initiatives in contract review, bordereaux management, and underwriting documentation.

- Implement process controls to reduce operational risks and improve turnaround time in submissions and acceptances.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you must have:

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Finance, or related fields.

- Professional certifications (ACII, CPCU, ARe, or equivalent). 8-10 years of experience in reinsurance underwriting (Assumed side) across multiple P&C lines.

- 4+ years of team leadership/managerial experience with direct people management responsibilities.

- Strong exposure to Treaty (Proportional & Non-Proportional) and Facultative underwriting.
