We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer. As a key member of our Observability team, you will play a vital role in driving organizational success by combining development and operations knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SRE or development and experience improving service reliability through Observability. You will be responsible for taking ownership of challenging problems and working collaboratively with product development teams, Cloud Infrastructure, and other SRE teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enable fast-growing teams across multiple applications and locations by implementing scalable solutions.
  • Tackle complex development, automation, and business process problems while championing best practices.
  • Ensure the scalability, performance, and resilience of Cvent products and processes by identifying and resolving observability gaps.
  • Work with product development teams and other SRE teams to develop automation that targets multiple on-premises and AWS regions.
  • Contribute to Open-Source projects and identify recurring problems and anti-patterns in development, operational, and security processes.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills and track record working in distributed teams.
  • Passion for making things better for peers.
  • Experience managing AWS services or operating knowledge of managing applications in AWS – ideally via automation.
  • Fluency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Typescript, Javascript, Python, Ruby, Bash).
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies (preferably Agile).
  • Experience with Observability (Logging, Metrics, Tracing) and SLI/SLO.
  • Working experience with APM, monitoring, and logging tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, Splunk).
  • Good understanding of containerization concepts (docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
  • Self-motivation and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshooting and responding to incidents, setting a standard for others to prevent future issues.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform).
  • Managing 3-tier application stacks.
  • Understanding basic networking concepts.
  • Server configuration experience (Chef, Puppet, Ansible).
  • Working experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Couchbase, Postgres).
  • Using APM data to troubleshoot and find performance bottlenecks.
