Engineering Leadership Opportunity

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our global team of talented engineers in the development and delivery of our products.

This role requires someone from a Payment and Fintech background, with a strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as C#, Java, Scala, Go, etc.

  • Lead and mentor a global engineering team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to help them grow professionally and technically.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and scope. Work with cross-functional teams to prioritize launches and requirements.
  • Set engineering standards and practices to ensure the team delivers secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions. Foster a culture of code quality, performance, and security.
  • Work closely with Product, Design and Go-To-Market teams to define and execute on product roadmaps. Contribute to the technical design and architecture of the platform.
  • Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and workflows.
  • Actively participate in ongoing recruiting efforts in recruiting top-tier engineering talent.
  • Collaborate with HR on performance management, training and development.
  • Lead efforts in scaling backend services, optimizing for performance, availability, and security.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2-3 years in a management role. They will also possess a security first mindset, with good knowledge of common security concepts such as AuthN, AuthZ, SAML, API security, encryption etc.

A solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and microservices architecture is required. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure is also necessary. Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is a must.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. They will also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make critical decisions under pressure.
