Regional Head - Sales

As a Regional Lead, you will drive the commercial agenda across the region in India to maximize market opportunities. Your primary management responsibility will be overseeing business operations, including optimizing sales and market share gains for products and/or services throughout assigned regions in India domestic and regulated markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development Strategy
  • Contribute to the API BD strategy on Global Accounts growth objectives
  • Determine strategies for selected accounts
  • Build wallet share of business for Biocon API business in India

Leading Sales and Account Management

  • Lead operations and day-to-day activities to ensure smooth functioning of businesses and monthly order forecasting for production planning
  • Grow share of business, expand relationships within customers, identifying influencers, gatekeepers, decision makers within the region of India, but also direct and align with Global and Regional KAMs to further penetrate client organization
  • Deploy strong consultative selling approach with assigned accounts to identify supply chain challenges and develop value-creating solutions
  • Interact with regular customers to ensure continuity of existing businesses from order receipt to shipment despatch as per customer requirements
  • Co-ordinate with planning/production and Logistics/Shipping teams to ensure despatch as per customer timelines, shipping documentations provided to customers, and payments received by due-dates
  • Necessary interaction/co-ordination with various departments for samples, regulatory requirements, DMFs, and other documentation for new customers & regulatory approvals to meet statutory requirements
  • Manage business development activities to add new customers and increase market coverage of existing range of products in untapped regions

Market Identification and Expansion

Identify markets and customers for new products and products in pipeline. Assist regional heads for successful launch and ensure sales of new products once commercialized

Provide market research, market intelligence, and key information on international market trends and competition to help division with future export strategies

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 15-20 years of relevant industry experience in API Sales and BD (India market focus preferred)
  • High-energy individual with positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in hands-on, collaborative fashion with many different disciplines both inside and outside company
  • Demonstrated experience in contributing to negotiation and closing of partnership agreements
  • Strong leadership qualities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, relationship management skills, strategic thinking, open-minded, and innovative thinking
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with incomplete information
  • Good negotiation & presentation techniques
  • Well-versed sales techniques, consultative selling, customer psychology, and purchasing patterns
