Procurement Professional

The role of the Procurement Specialist is to execute Annual and Strategic Plans with supporting strategies. They will drive projects, category, and commodity sourcing strategies, including spend analysis, benchmarking, cost, market analysis, and global technology/economic trends.

The specialist will ensure relationship development and management with key supplier leaderships and align with sales, marketing, technology, business, operations, finance, and quality teams. This involves managing project, category, and commodity sourcing strategies, including supplier selection, RFQ, and RFI processes, negotiation, contracting, and supplier performance processes.

The procurement professional will support presales pursuits aggressively for 3rd party buyouts/products/services to achieve competitiveness and increase win rates. They will work closely with the cost estimation manager to optimize the cost of products and services, evaluating vendor offers techno-commercially, aligning terms and conditions on a back-to-back basis before recommending e-gap approval to Sourcing Leadership.

The role requires delivering metrics meeting/exceeding Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Strategy Deployment targets. The specialist will drive functional excellence, focusing on key metrics such as early engagement, win rate, productivity, working capital, eAuction, digitization, and on-time delivery.

The procurement specialist will apply effective sourcing supplier risk assessment methodologies to ensure supplier continuity. They will improve working capital through payment terms extensions, payment cycle optimization, vendor-managed inventories, inventory reductions, and lead time reductions.

The specialist will achieve material spend of bought outs and associated services as per project schedule and revenue plan. They will engage with project management when projects are awarded to develop procurement plans and deliver metrics and expectations.

The role requires driving process compliance and excellence, initiating and supporting improvement programs. The specialist will create, maintain, and benchmark pre-sales buyout/procurement databases across verticals from quotes and/or projects executed.

The procurement professional will collaborate with global category management to identify and develop suppliers, establish contracts, cost models, and price agreements. They will develop alternate suppliers and solutions and support the team in sourcing competitive suppliers from emerging markets.

The specialist will support timely submission of data/reports and monthly metric reporting. They will drive and ensure compliance to procedures and policies, leveraging tools.
