Piping Design Specialist Role

Job Overview: We seek a senior piping design engineer with extensive experience in piping, HVAC design, and 3D modeling tools.

The ideal candidate will have exposure to Marine/Offshore projects and should also be open to opportunities across Piping design-related domains.

  • Lead Design Activities: Supervise piping design and layout activities for complex engineering projects.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare and review piping GA drawings, isometrics, MTOs, and support drawings.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (process, structural, mechanical, instrumentation, etc.).
  • Clash Detection and Resolution: Perform clash detection and resolve design issues using advanced 3D modeling tools.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers.
  • Client Interaction: Handle global client interactions professionally, capturing requirements and delivering effective design solutions.
  • Design Task Execution: Understand client requirements and carry out design-related tasks based on inputs.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with all marine classification societies, standards, and rules.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Good in communication and able to work individually and as a team.
  • Timely Delivery: Ensure timely delivery of design packages while adhering to project schedules and quality benchmarks.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify risks, deviations, and propose solutions to maintain design integrity.
  • Procurement and Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with procurement and vendors for equipment/piping interface requirements.
  • Fabrication, Installation, and Commissioning Support: Support fabrication, installation, and commissioning teams with design clarifications and site queries.
  • Design Documentation and Reporting: Prepare design documentation, reports, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Education: Diploma, Degree in Engineering, or relevant qualification.
  • Experience: 4–12 years (or relevant senior-level experience) in piping design.
  • Marine/Offshore Background: Background in Marine/Offshore projects is highly desirable.

Desirable Qualities:

  • Piping Design Codes and Standards: Strong knowledge of piping design codes and standards.
  • Lay Planning, Routing, and Detailing: Expertise in layout planning, routing, and detailing.
  • Diverse Industry Experience: Adaptability to work across diverse industries (Marine, Offshore, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power, Pharma, F&B).
  • Relocation: Willingness to relocate to Bangalore.
