Piping and utility engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Basic Engineering:

  • Develop PFDs and P&IDs for utility systems (O2, N2, AR, compressed air, steam, fuel gases).

  • Perform pipe sizing and pressure drop calculations.
  • Select and size equipment like compressors, boosters, dryers, air receivers, vessels, etc.

  • Design dust extraction systems (Bag Filter, ESP, etc.).

  • Detail Engineering:

  • Prepare equipment GA drawings, piping layouts, BOQs, and procurement specs.

  • Conduct stress analysis and provide piping load data for civil/structural teams.

  • Generate construction drawings for piping.

  • System Design & Review:

  • Review structural/civil drawings linked to piping and equipment.

  • Prepare technical specs for compressors, gas boosters, fuel gas mixing stations, DE systems, etc.

  • Procurement Support:

  • Conduct technical and techno-commercial bid evaluations.

  • Prepare comparative statements and recommendations.

  • Coordination:

  • Attend meetings with clients and vendors.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong experience in basic & detail engineering of piping and utility systems.
  • Knowledge of dust extraction systems, gas handling, and compressed air systems.
  • Steel plant project experience preferred.

Software Competencies

  • AUTOCAD, CAESAR2 (PREFERRABLE), experience in 3D environments.
