We are seeking a skilled professional to lead the migration of large-scale SQL workloads from on-premise environments to cloud-based platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in modern data engineering tools and platforms within the Azure ecosystem, with a strong foundation in data integration, transformation, and migration.
The successful candidate will design, develop, and manage end-to-end data pipelines using cloud-based data factory services to orchestrate migration and ETL processes. They will also be responsible for building and administering scalable, secure data lakes to store and manage structured and unstructured data during and post-migration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the migration of large-scale SQL workloads from on-premise environments to cloud-based platforms.
- Design, develop, and manage end-to-end data pipelines using cloud-based data factory services.
- Build and administer scalable, secure data lakes.
- Utilize cloud-based big data processing technologies for advanced data transformation and processing.
- Develop and fine-tune scripts for data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and reporting in cloud-based relational databases.
- Collaborate with cloud architects, database administrators, and application teams to assess existing workloads and define the best migration approach.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with a clear focus on SQL workload migration to cloud-based platforms.
- Deep expertise in: cloud-based data factory services, cloud-based data lake storage, cloud-based big data processing technologies, scripting languages.
- Proven track record of delivering complex data migration projects (on-prem to cloud, or cloud-to-cloud).
- Experience re-platforming or re-engineering legacy data processing systems for cloud-based data factory services.
- Cloud certification preferred.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and present migration strategies to stakeholders.
