Job Overview

The Assistant Vice President-Infra role entails overseeing the operational aspects of Infrastructure Operations. This involves developing and implementing infrastructure strategies for the organization, encompassing on-premise datacenter management and cloud deployments.

Duties
  • Develop and implement an infrastructure strategy to support business growth objectives.
  • Analyze existing infrastructure effectiveness and develop strategies for improvement or optimization.
  • Negotiate software, hardware, and IT supply purchases as approved by senior management.
  • Manage inventory of software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT supplies.
  • Interact with senior management and peers on matters requiring alternative approaches.
  • Oversee outsourced teams for daily operations and activities.
  • Provide solutions to complex business problems, analyzing situations that require in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  • Perform live disaster recovery activities and periodic DR drills.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of server, storage, database, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and network.
  • Manage production incidents and ensure regulatory compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in infrastructure management for both on-premise datacenters and cloud infrastructures.
Key Competencies
  • Able to perform infrastructure discovery assessments and transformation strategies.
  • Holistic understanding of all data center functions, including production operations, change control, disaster recovery, helpdesk, systems management, and facilities.
  • Experience with private and public cloud architectures, pros, cons, and migration considerations.

Essential Skills: Program and project management expertise, planning and executing infrastructure-related projects, in-depth hands-on knowledge of infrastructure such as server, storage, database, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and network, good knowledge and exposure to cloud computing.
