Quality Assurance Expert - Electrical Panels

Overview:

This role oversees all quality assurance and control processes at a manufacturing facility for low-voltage electrical panels. It ensures compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards for LV electrical panel manufacturing.
  • Monitor and control quality processes across all stages of production, from raw material inspection to final product testing.
  • Lead and manage a team of quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians to achieve quality objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., IEC, UL) and customer-specific requirements for LV electrical panels.
  • Drive initiatives for process optimization, defect reduction, and quality improvement using tools like Six Sigma and Lean.
  • Oversee testing procedures, including dielectric tests and short-circuit withstand tests, to ensure product reliability and safety.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet quality specifications and conduct supplier audits as needed.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related customer queries and complaints.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, prepare reports, and present quality performance metrics to senior management.
  • Identify potential quality risks and implement corrective actions to mitigate them.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in quality management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the LV electrical panel or similar electrical manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of LV electrical panel design, manufacturing processes, and testing standards (e.g., IEC 61439).
