Taxation Technical Specialist

This role is responsible for providing comprehensive production support for tax management systems and their integration with ERP platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of taxation expertise and technical troubleshooting capabilities to ensure accurate tax calculations and seamless system operations across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Support the development and implementation of taxation rules, tax jurisdictions, and product taxability assignments within Vertex Tax Engine.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot API data feeds, including Vertex API calls, REST/SOAP integrations, and data flow between Vertex and ERP systems.
  • Analyze and resolve issues related to tax calculation problems, missing tax rates, and incorrect invoice tax postings.
  • Perform SQL & Data Analysis by querying ERP and Vertex databases for tax calculations, transaction history, and reconciliation.
  • Develop and maintain Performance Optimization by identifying slow queries, resolving batch processing issues, and improving tax data loads.

The successful candidate will have experience with taxation domain expertise, cloud-based systems, and technical troubleshooting skills. They will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
