At American Express Global Business Travel, we're looking for a talented Business Analyst - Travel Consulting to join our Data Analytics team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the data and analytical needs of our Travel Consulting Projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support multi-work stream engagements, prioritize client requests, and work objectives leveraging project management methodologies and tools.
  • Work with stakeholders across GBT to understand complex business needs, develop hypotheses, and identify data to evaluate based on client needs.
  • Compile various data sources, link data together, and create reports/solutions.
  • Run reports, correct file errors, normalize data, and create scenario-based models.
  • Present complex information and data in an uncomplicated, easy-to-understand way.
  • Produce client reports and deliverables in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Effectively manage issues and risks that arise during the lifecycle of the project/engagement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in statistics, travel, business administration, finance, decision sciences, economics, or mathematics.
  • 4+ years of work experience, with 2+ years of business travel or consulting organization experience.
  • Experience with hotel strategy, sourcing, and optimization in the travel industry is preferred.
  • Good analytical and project management skills, with an innovative approach and ability to think conceptually.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and Access, with SQL knowledge a plus.
  • Experience handling hotel programs through platforms like Cvent (Lanyon) and data visualization solutions like Tableau is desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, listening ability, and written presentation skills.
  • Highly client-focused, with the ability to demonstrate attention to detail and focus on quality.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and present/discuss work results in a compelling manner.
  • Great teammate, with flexibility/ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to set priorities and work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
