Policy Strategist Role

The policy team plays a critical role in navigating the regulatory environment and ensuring alignment with business goals within India's framework.

This team works closely with government bodies, departments and other stakeholders to achieve objectives. By leading engagement efforts, the team ensures that the organization remains compliant and competitive in markets it operates in.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direction and guidance on strategies that align with business goals.
  • Represent interests with regulatory bodies, associations and other stakeholders at local, state, and national levels.
  • Monitor and analyse developments to identify emerging opportunities and challenges that may impact the business.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership on key matters, ensuring proactive decision-making.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address proposals.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in policy-related matters, offering advice to senior leadership.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders across regulatory, industry and business networks.
  • Actively engage with forums to advocate priorities and contribute to shaping frameworks.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in public policy and affairs, with a strong focus on the Indian market.
  • A network of stakeholders, including senior levels, with an ability to effectively interact at highest levels.
  • An understanding of the policy climate in India, combined with sound and practical judgement.
  • An ability to anticipate issues of importance, communicate their impact and develop strategies to address them.
  • Ability to identify and understand technical aspects pertaining to corporate operations, understand implications and synthesize documents for customers.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build consensus and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Sound judgement and a practical approach to policy development and compliance.
