Energy Storage Engineer Role

Summary of the Position

The organization seeks a skilled Energy Storage Engineer to contribute to its engineering team. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing battery-based energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems for battery-based energy storage systems, including PCS, BMS, EMS, and SCADA designs.
  • Familiarize yourself with applicable codes, standards, and regulations in the USA.
  • Lead due diligence and owner's engineer activities, reviewing technical documents and installations for compliance.
  • Analyze current battery technologies and their characteristics, relating them to battery parameters.
  • Develop FAT and integration test plans for BESS systems, reviewing technical documents provided by vendors.
  • Manage bids and projects throughout their life cycle.
  • Conduct electrical testing using appropriate PPE and procedures.
  • Participate in equipment training sessions provided by manufacturers and approved by managers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 2 years' experience in BESS.
  2. A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a relevant field. PhDs in similar fields are also welcome.
  3. The ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
  4. At least 3 years of electrical knowledge/training experience in BESS.
  5. Strong organization, communication, analytical, planning, time management, and customer service skills.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft office software like Outlook, Excel, Word.
  7. Client management, team management, and process management skills.
  8. Familiarity with other electrical and PV software is an added advantage.
