Database Architect

As a Database Architect, you will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable database systems to meet the needs of our business.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement database architectures to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Analyze database performance and implement best practices for optimization.
  • Develop and enforce policies for database security, backup, and recovery.
  • Monitor database metrics and provide insights to improve overall system performance.
  • Collaborate with peers to roll out changes to production environment and help mitigate incidents.
  • Automate database infrastructure and provide self-service tools to engineering teams.
  • Provide on-call support and debug database production issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • At least 4-8 years of experience running MySQL/PostgreSQL databases in large environments.
  • Awareness of cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
  • Knowledge of the internals of MySQL/PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of load balancing solutions such as ProxySQL.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Knowledge of caching (Redis/ElastiCache).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python).
  • Knowledge of infrastructure automation (Terraform/Ansible).
