About Database Administrators

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our databases.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of our databases, as well as supporting day-to-day operations, deployments, and data-driven decision-making.

You will work closely with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to design, optimize, and troubleshoot database systems that support healthcare delivery at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain relational database systems (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) both on-premises and on cloud.">
  • Monitor database performance and tune queries, indexes, and configurations to ensure optimal response times using tools like CloudWatch, Performance Insights, Grafana, or pgAdmin.">
  • Ensure data security, integrity, backup, and recovery processes are in place and regularly tested.">
  • Automate routine database maintenance and deployment tasks using CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, or AWS-native services.">
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues in production and non-production environments, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity issues, and cloud integration errors.">
  • Collaborate with developers to design efficient database schemas, optimize queries, and implement best practices for scalable cloud-based applications.">
  • Implement and monitor disaster recovery and high-availability strategies such as clustering, replication, multi-AZ, and failover setups in cloud platforms.">
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and cloud runbooks.">
  • Assist in building data governance frameworks and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.">

Desirable Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.">
  • Strong hands-on experience with MySQL (experience in SQL Server/Oracle is a plus).">
  • Expertise in database monitoring and observability tools.">
  • Deep understanding of query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning in high-transaction environments.">
  • Experience with backup, recovery, replication, clustering, and failover strategies.">
  • Familiarity with Linux environments, shell scripting, and automation tools.">
  • Good understanding of APIs, application-database interactions, and deployment workflows in microservices-based architectures.">
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based databases.">
  • Knowledge of data governance, compliance standards, and healthcare data privacy regulations is an advantage.">
