Lead Data Scientist

We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join our team.

  • This role will lead the development and implementation of advanced data science solutions, driving business growth and improvement through data-driven decision making.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML), with a strong background in programming languages such as Python and R. They will be able to design, develop, and fine-tune multilingual small language models (SLMs) with advanced AI capabilities for agentic applications.

The successful candidate will also have experience in building custom NLI and reward-scoring models to improve preference-based SLM training, enhancing multi-agent response quality and relevance. Additionally, they will be able to develop and implement active learning pipelines for data and models, for NLP, named entity recognition (NER), conversational latent intent/concepts, travel-specific embeddings, and domain-specific SLM training for summarization, rephrasing, and planning.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions that impact millions of users, ensuring alignment with business goals. You will also focus on hosting and deploying generative AI models on robust and efficient infrastructure to support large-scale operations.

To succeed in this position, you will need to have demonstrable experience in scaling your models to large scale search systems, very good critical reasoning skills, data centric NLP/NLI systems, and a temperament and hunger to work in fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design, develop, and fine-tune multilingual SLMs with advanced AI capabilities for agentic applications.

  4. Architect and enhance conversational AI systems.
  5. Drive end-to-end quality assurance.
  6. Mentor and guide engineering teams.
  7. Collaborate across teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  8. Host and deploy generative AI models.
Requirements:
  • Deep experience in NLP and ML.
  • Strong background in programming languages such as Python and R.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and fine-tuning multilingual SLMs.
  • Experience in building custom NLI and reward-scoring models.
  • Experience in developing and implementing active learning pipelines.
