Event Operations Manager Role

This position plays a pivotal role in the smooth operation of our events, encompassing a wide range of administrative, support, and customer service functions.

You will be responsible for:

  • managing event floor plans
  • controlling stand packages
  • managing critical show timelines
  • ensuring compliance with operational procedures

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to be present onsite at events/shows, providing support and assistance to senior management.

Liaising with show teams and external suppliers/partners to deliver high-quality events is a core element of the role.

About the role: You will bring together pop-culture fandoms ranging from comics, toys, merch, anime, cosplay, TV, movies, gaming, and more. Your mission will be to create unique events and world-class experiences for comic book and pop culture fans.

Key responsibilities include:

Floor Plan Management
  • Plan and update floor plans as required
Show Logistics
  • Obtain lists of stall upgrades and custom stalls from show teams
  • Track and record received documentation
  • Communicate approvals or requests for further documentation to show teams
Critical Path Planning
  • Prepare critical paths for the show calendar and individual shows, mapping out operations tasks/activities and timelines
  • Maintain and update critical paths as the show year progresses
  • Alert management to upcoming critical path events
Operations Support
  • Provide information and detailed specifications to third parties (contractors, suppliers, venues) for quotations
  • Track, record, and maintain correspondence relating to quotations
  • Assist management with referencing quotations against available budgets
Customer Service
  • Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers
Event Execution
  • Attend events/shows to execute operations plans
  • Supervise the coordination of setup periods
  • Participate during show days to ensure smooth and safe running
