Job Role Overview

The product merchandiser will be responsible for overseeing the entire merchandise management process in woven garments, acting as a pivotal link between buyers, suppliers, and production teams. The role demands strong coordination, costing expertise, and the ability to deliver products that meet buyer specifications, quality standards, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the design team to create seasonal collections tailored to customer requirements.
  • Develop samples, negotiate prices, and confirm orders with respective buyers.
  • Process material orders according to deadlines, focusing on optimizing budgets and costs.
  • Prioritize attention to detail, work independently, and adapt to changing environments and challenges.
  • Gain experience in handling small and high-value businesses.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Possess technical knowledge of woven garment manufacturing, including shirts, jackets, and bottoms.
  • Demonstrate leadership and management skills.
  • Take ownership and show commitment to all job responsibilities for result-driven achievements.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Apparel Merchandising, Fashion Technology, or equivalent field.
  • 1-8 years of experience as a merchandiser in a woven garment factory (buyer handling experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of woven fabrics, garment construction, costing, and production processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP/MIS systems.
  • Ability to multitask, handle pressure, and meet strict deadlines.
