Job Role: Merchandise Strategist

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join our team as a Merchandise Strategist. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the divisional Buying and Merchandising strategy and executing it with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement buying strategies to ensure product quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with merchandising teams to manage stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns.
  • Research customer needs and technological trends to identify future product opportunities.
  • Work with marketing departments and management to achieve optimal pricing agreements with suppliers.
  • Source products that meet customer requirements, maximizing current sourcing channels and identifying new opportunities.
  • Negotiate with the supply base to achieve best costs and margins.
  • Support designers on style development, research trips, fabric and print advice, and informing best sellers.
  • Monitor competitors' activities through market research to track trends, forecasting, and color, fabric preferences.
  • Promote and develop promotional plans, including product presentation, packaging, and product development.
  • Review and adjust season and weekly plans accordingly.

  • Understanding of merchandising principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of visual merchandising and store layouts.
