System Administrator Position

The role of a System Administrator is to oversee the maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of computer systems and networks.

  • Solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across various platforms and services.
  • Manage systems data for clients and provide day-to-day solutions and security compliance.
  • Oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration.
  • Experience with Solaris 10 and 11 system administration.
  • Knowledge of Solaris kernel upgradation, system firmware upgrades, and adding disks to LDOMs.
  • Ability to configure root disk in SVM, create, install, migrate zones, connect storage (lofs, ufs, zfs file systems) to zones, manage packages and patches within zones, configure persistent resource pools and resources management with zones.
  • Renaming, moving, cloning zones, migrating physical systems into zones, adding exclusive and shared IPs to zones, configuring control and guest domains, re-configuring guest domain resources (CPUs, memory), split PCI configuration to create I/O domains, assigning storage (disks, files, zfs volumes) as virtual disks to LDOMs, configuring probe-based IPMP, adding CPUs, memory, swap to zones, adding plumbing virtual IPs to servers/zones, encapsulating root disk in veritas volume manager, adding users to clusters to give access, adding third-party packages to servers, renaming server zones, updating projects for user profiles update profile variable values, etc.

Preferred Experience:

  • Automation experience, especially IaaS infrastructure as a code.
  • Vulnerability management and Microsoft Active Directory and federation services.
