Renate Capital Fund I is a Category II AIF Venture Capital Fund investing in revenue-positive Indian startups solving core Indian problems. We invest a larger cheque and take controlling/major stakes in startups raising Seed Rounds, targeting disciplined 18–24 month exits with 3× returns.

Role Overview

As a Venture Fund Associate, you will be part of the core team, working directly under the Managing Director. Your responsibilities include sourcing investors, structuring deals, closing deals, evaluating startups, managing due diligence, and supporting portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deal Sourcing: Identify potential investors through networks, events, inbound leads, accelerators, and referrals.
  • Evaluation of Investments: Analyze business models, financials, traction, and scalability of potential investments.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct legal, financial, and compliance checks on shortlisted startups.
  • Portfolio Support: Collaborate with portfolio companies on fundraising, growth strategy, and performance tracking.
  • Market Research: Conduct deep dives into sectors, prepare market maps, and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Fund Operations: Assist with investment memoranda, reporting to Limited Partners, and internal fund documentation.
  • Ecosystem Building: Represent the firm at startup events, demo days, and founder meetings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 6-12 Months of experience in VC, PE, consulting, investment banking, or startup strategy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Established professional network.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
