Equity Portfolio Manager Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to efficiently manage and deploy funds, thereby achieving targeted returns on investments. The individual in this position will work closely with the investment desk to make informed decisions regarding investments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To create detailed financial models that accurately reflect company and sector dynamics.
  • Examine a company's financial reports, including balance sheets and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial statements and develop investment thesis when required.
  • Perform market and portfolio analysis to support Equity investment decisions.
  • Provide continuous coverage on allocated industry sectors and individual stocks; monitor earning results, Corporate actions analysis.
  • Liaise with investment Backoffice teams to ensure timely trade processing.
  • Study and analyze the condition of the market and conducting detailed research on the financial, social, and economic data and information.
  • Maintain the portfolio by updating and monitoring it regularly.
  • Evaluate startups companies and prepare a detailed report to highlight opportunities and risks; to justify investment thesis.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry developments and changes in the regulatory environment.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have a CA / Full time MBA Finance degree with minimum 8 -12 years of experience.
  • Working experience of SAP.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills – able to convey effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to interact with stakeholders effectively.
  • Listening skills – ability to coordinate across external & internal stakeholders & interpret different viewpoints.
