- Job Description
- As a key player in our catering team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sales strategies to achieve individual catering sales goals. Regular monitoring of status and adjustments as necessary will ensure alignment with company objectives. Your role will also involve identifying potential key accounts (banquet and group) and developing strategies to prioritize and penetrate those accounts. Outside sales calls to prospective catering customers will be a key aspect of this position, requiring strong negotiation skills to secure catering sales functions.
- Clarifying customer requirements and suggesting alternative menus, themes, etc. will be essential in providing exceptional customer service. Preparing proposals for clients outlining details of proposed functions and coordinating preparation of estimates with food and beverage and other departments if needed will also be a crucial responsibility. Conducting on-site client inspections to illustrate available services, meeting and sleeping room set-ups and capabilities will showcase your ability to deliver outstanding results.
- Monitoring customer satisfaction with catering business and following up with key contacts on a regular basis to assess satisfaction will ensure that our clients are always satisfied. Ensuring all materials used are in accordance with brand standards will maintain the highest level of professionalism and quality.
- Communicating client requests to all departments in an effective and timely manner will guarantee seamless execution of events. Working with the sales team for additional business opportunities as appropriate will identify new avenues for growth and development.
- Assisting in reviewing the function book and conducting evaluation of releasing or finalizing functions will contribute to the smooth operation of the department.
- Providing genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations will create memorable experiences for our clients. Giving personal attention, taking personal responsibility and using teamwork when providing guest service will demonstrate commitment to delivering exceptional results.
- Listening, apologizing with empathy, finding a solution and following through when resolving guest problems will showcase excellent problem-solving skills. Providing Yes I Can genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis will create a positive work environment.
- Assuming the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and using best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction will demonstrate dedication to customer satisfaction.
- Performing other duties required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality will ensure flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Keeping immediate Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance will foster open communication and collaboration.
- Maintaining a high standard of personal grooming at all times in order to represent the Hotel in the best possible manner, reflecting the public role of the position will uphold the highest standards of professionalism.
- Developing and participating in Hotel promotions as required will drive business growth and development.
- Familiarity with objectives, strategies, action plans and other marketing related information contained within the Hotel annual business plan will ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Performing all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position will guarantee successful outcomes.
- Maintaining a favourable working relationship with all other hotel employees to foster and promote a co-operative and harmonious working environment will create a positive work environment.
- At all times projecting a favourable image of the Hotel to the public will maintain a positive reputation.
