Backend Architect Position

We are seeking a seasoned backend architect to lead the design and development of our enterprise-level systems. As a highly experienced professional, you will be responsible for defining the architecture of our backend services, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and high code quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and implement the overall architecture of our backend services, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Mentor and guide developers in feature implementation, promoting best practices, and adherence to design principles.
  • Participate in hands-on coding activities, directly owning the implementation of complex features, conducting Proof of Concepts (POCs), debugging performance issues, and improving scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps and Quality Assurance, to ensure stable and efficient deployments and releases.
  • Drive process innovation and propose new ideas to improve quality and speed, including the adoption of new technologies and platforms.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in leading the design and development of large-scale backend systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in mentoring and guiding teams of developers.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling in RDBMS like Postgres/MySQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD using Jenkins and deploying Docker containers with orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Skills & Expertise:
  • Backend Proficiency: Excellent understanding of backend technologies, including their limitations and workarounds.
  • Scalable Design: Strong knowledge of designing and using backend services that can scale horizontally.
  • Performance Tuning: Knowledge of performance tuning and the fundamental design principles behind building scalable applications.
  • Architectural Trends: Up-to-date with the latest architecture trends, design patterns used in the industry, and awareness of trade-offs involved in building complex microservices-based architecture.
  • DevOps Knowledge: Working knowledge in DevOps practices such as logging, horizontal and vertical scaling, cost reduction, and optimization.
  • Frontend (Good to Have): Knowledge of frontend development using React or React Native is a plus.
  • Communication & Leadership: Strong communication and inter-personal skills, with the ability to mentor and coach team members, upskill teams, and work effectively in ambiguous setups.
