Senior Petrochemicals Business Developer

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Petrochemicals Business Developer to lead our business development function for the petrochemicals vertical, with a focus on oil rigs and exploration assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and pursuing strategic acquisition opportunities, particularly underperforming oil rigs in India and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive M&A strategy end-to-end – target identification, due diligence, financial evaluation, negotiations, and integration.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential acquisition targets in coastal regions globally.
  • Leverage existing network and build strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the global petrochemical and oil exploration sector.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams – legal, finance, technical – to execute deals smoothly.
  • Monitor and assess market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to identify new growth avenues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in business development, M&A, or strategy in the petrochemicals/oil & gas sector.
  • Proven track record of deal-making, especially with international assets or companies.
  • Deep understanding of upstream oil & gas operations, especially rig operations.
  • Strong global network in the petrochemical space, especially in coastal countries with active oil rigs.
  • Excellent negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • MBA or relevant technical qualification preferred.
