About the Role

The primary focus of this position is to oversee and manage daily operations within a coding unit. This includes ensuring optimal workload distribution, effective staffing, and implementing performance monitoring systems to guarantee high-quality results.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement short-term and long-range goals for the coding unit, ensuring seamless execution and accountability.
  • Collaborate with senior management to plan, develop, and control operational budgets, including resource allocation and optimization.
  • Evaluate the impact of innovations and changes in programs, policies, and procedures on the coding unit.
  • Design and implement data accessibility systems, identify potential problems, assess and resolve them effectively.
  • Oversee and monitor coding compliance programs, developing educational and training initiatives to enhance staff knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain open communication channels regarding regulatory updates, policy changes, and guideline revisions.
  • Conduct thorough audits to ensure accurate coding practices and document adequacy.
  • Analyze trends to identify patterns and variations in coding methods.
  • Review claim denials and rejections related to coding and medical necessity issues, implementing corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences.
