About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to lead our team in developing innovative machine learning and data analytics solutions. As a Lead Data Scientist, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable Big Data infrastructure and machine learning models to improve our industry-leading map.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop predictive modeling solutions using statistical analysis packages and associated scripting languages such as Python, R, Matlab, SAS, etc.
  • Collaborate with researchers, developers, architects, IT to develop, deploy, and maintain applications in multiple environments.
  • Act as an expert and evangelist in areas of data mining, machine learning, statistics, and predictive analysis and modeling.
  • Function as a predictive modeling or application team lead on Core Map projects.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Econometrics with emphasis or thesis work on computational statistics/science/engineering, data mining, machine learning, and optimization.
  • At least 7 years of related professional experience.
  • Expert-level knowledge in one or more areas of data mining and analytic methods such as regression, classifiers, clustering, association rules, decision trees, Bayesian network analysis, etc.
  • Knowledge of Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Point Cloud Processing algorithms.
  • Proficiency with SQL, shell script, Python, etc.
  • Knowledge of and experience with tools such as Pig, Hive, etc., for working with big data in Hadoop and/or Spark for data extraction and data prep for analysis.
  • Experience in explaining predictive systems and techniques to internal and external customer executives, technical, and non-technical personnel.
