Cost Management Specialist
Job Description:
The Project Cost Controller is responsible for analyzing and controlling project costs, ensuring alignment with financial plans and compliance with contractual agreements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform cost analysis and control across engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
- Prepare detailed variance reports and validate non-PO based expenses.
- Collaborate with project teams to track progress and update percentage-of-completion calculations.
- Provide insights and reports on cost performance, profit margins, and project cash flow.
- Ensure contract and cost compliance, and conduct audits to allocate costs accurately.
- Manage inventory and procurement costs, and implement strategies to minimize waste and cost.
- Identify potential risks and recommend cost reduction strategies.
- Track and record fixed assets, and oversee asset capitalization and depreciation.
- Prepare regular financial and cost reports, and forecast costs for budgeting purposes.
Required Skills:
- Familiarity with IFRS standards, particularly IFRS 15, IFRS 9, IFRS 16, and IAS 16.
- Understanding of EPC project lifecycle, cost drivers, and risks.
- Technical proficiency in project management and accounting software.
- Strong analytical skills in cost analysis, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Effective communication skills to present cost information and insights.
