Job Title:

Data Science Lead

The role of the Data Science Lead is a critical one in our organization, where we are leveraging innovation and technology to create solutions that drive business outcomes. The successful candidate will have a passion for developing machine learning and data analytics solutions that fuel industry-leading map development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build process automation in HERE Core Map processes using scalable Big Data infrastructure and machine learning for global-scale digital map-making.
  • Build and test analytic models to improve internal data-driven processes and system control needs.
  • Act as an expert in data mining, machine learning, statistics, and predictive analysis.
  • Function as a predictive modeling lead on Core Map projects.

Requirements:

  • MS or PhD in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Econometrics with emphasis on computational statistics/science/engineering, data mining, machine learning, and optimization.
  • 7+ years related professional experience.
  • Expert knowledge in data mining methods such as regression, classifiers, clustering, association rules, decision trees, and Bayesian network analysis.
  • Knowledge of Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Point Cloud Processing algorithms.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis packages like Python, R, Matlab, SAS, and associated scripting languages.
  • Programming experience with SQL, shell script, Python, etc.
  • Knowledge of big data tools like Pig, Hive, Hadoop, and Spark.
  • Demonstrated capability to interact with executives, technical, and non-technical teams to explain predictive systems and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Development experience with Scala, Docker, GIS data, and NoSQL databases.
