Image Processing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Image Processing Specialist to contribute to the development of high-performance image processing pipelines for satellite optical sensors. The successful candidate will have expertise in advanced algorithms and be able to drive real-time analysis.

About This Role:

This role requires a strong background in image processing and computer vision algorithms, with experience using libraries like OpenCV and GDAL. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of satellite optical sensors and their processing challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize algorithms for key image processing stages, including radiometric and geometric correction, atmospheric correction, image enhancement, mosaicking, and orthorectification.
  • Design and implement efficient image processing pipelines for satellite optical sensor data.
  • Apply cutting-edge techniques such as deep learning, object detection, and spectral analysis to extract meaningful insights from optical imagery.
  • Develop solutions for cloud-based processing to handle large-scale satellite data efficiently.
  • Ensure the pipeline is automated, efficient, and scalable to handle high-volume satellite data processing tasks.
  • Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and GIS specialists to integrate image processing pipelines into broader systems.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of the pipeline architecture, algorithms, processes, and development timelines, and report progress to key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Preferably 2-3 years of industrial experience in satellite/drone image processing focusing on optical sensor data.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Proficiency in image processing and computer vision algorithms.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Understanding of satellite optical sensors and their processing challenges.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with machine learning techniques for image analysis.
  • Familiarity with geospatial data formats and tools (e.g., GeoTIFF, QGIS, ArcGIS).
