Job Opportunity: Economist

To support the manufacturing department in researching economic issues, conducting surveys and collecting data, analyzing data using analytical models and statistical techniques, presenting research results in reports, tables, and charts, interpreting and forecasting market trends, advising businesses, governments, and individuals on economic topics, recommending solutions to economic problems, writing articles for academic journals and other media.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement research agendas and report concepts with strategic planning ensuring timely delivery of at least one detailed report within a year.
  • Engage with ministries, universities, think tanks, and other agencies in research assignments, collaborating on at least one co-authored report/publication with government/academia.
  • Identify and prioritize research initiatives, working with various stakeholders to determine topics of focus.
  • Prepare discussion points and talking points for meetings and discussion forums, supporting the department by providing relevant content and effective delivery.
  • Deliver presentations in various forums, making crisp and impactful presentations during committee/council/government meetings.
  • Interpret stakeholder concerns, understanding issues and recommending solutions.

Qualifications and Key Skills:

  • Post Graduate degree in Economics from a reputable university (India or abroad).
  • Thought leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent domain knowledge and understanding.
  • Conceptualization and consultative skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
