Role Summary

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and grow a high-performing backend engineering team focused on scalable C++/Unix systems. You will ensure delivery of high-quality software, facilitate collaboration across global teams, and drive engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, development, and retention of top engineering talent within the team.
  • Drive project planning, resource allocation, and ensure timely delivery of backend systems.
  • Establish and enforce software engineering best practices, coding standards, and architecture guidelines.
  • Oversee system performance, scalability, security, and quality assurance efforts.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture with clear goals and career development plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams on strategic initiatives and technical integration.
  • Manage engineering workflows, sprint planning, and resolve impediments to maintain velocity.
  • Monitor key engineering metrics and implement continuous improvement plans.
  • Facilitate technical mentorship and leadership development within the team.
  • Lead incident management processes and ensure post-mortem learning cycles.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong expertise in C++ development, multithreading, and Linux-based systems.
  • Proven ability to lead distributed and remote teams.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and quality assurance practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with modern C++ standards (C++20), Boost, STL libraries.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or container orchestration platforms.
  • Exposure to Java (Spring Boot) and Redis technologies.
