About this Role

The Procurement Specialist is accountable for the strategic procurement of automotive electrical and electronic components.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the procurement process for automotive electrical and electronic commodities, including wiring harnesses, sensors, switches, relays, fuses, connectors, control units/ECUs, lighting systems, and instrument clusters/subsystems.
  • Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best cost, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Implement localization strategies to minimize reliance on imports and enhance supply chain resilience.
  • Identify, assess, and develop relationships with new and existing suppliers to ensure a stable supply chain.
  • Analyze costs, conduct supplier negotiations, and benchmarking to achieve cost reduction targets.
  • Collaborate with R&D, design, and quality teams to ensure alignment with technical requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance against quality, cost, and delivery parameters and implement improvements.
  • Stay updated on market trends, raw material price fluctuations, and emerging technologies in automotive electronics.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, OEM requirements, and ethical sourcing practices.

Essential Skills:

  • Strategic sourcing expertise, vendor development, localization, and cost management knowledge.
  • Strong negotiation, cost analysis, and supplier management skills.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, and supplier quality processes in the automotive sector.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle equivalent) and Microsoft Office tools.
