Job Title: Cost Optimization Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Optimization Expert to lead and execute various cost reduction projects related to Copper and Aluminum Raw Materials as part of the Direct Material Productivity (DMP) team.

The ideal candidate will have close collaboration with Global Procurement Organization & Product divisions to generate cost reduction opportunities.

  • Execute strategic projects for Copper and Aluminum Raw Material and components made from them, such as Stampings, Fabrication categories, working along with Global Procurement Leaders.
  • Implement strategic and operational plans for Value Added Engineering (VAVE), Resourcing, Negotiation, Part Rationalization to achieve measurable outputs in terms of cost reduction goals.
  • Generate new ideas that are technically and commercially viable to reduce overall product costs and be competitive in the market.
  • Drive productivity by supplier consolidations, key data improvements & avoiding part proliferation.
  • Identify and develop different knowledge nuggets to run data analysis which can be reused for other projects.
  • Participate in supplier discussions to generate new ideas and solutions to gain cost savings.
  • Leverage Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology to identify technical risks at an early stage of product development and develop robust products that meet customer requirements and specifications.
  • Foster innovation while working on new product development, VAVE, and problem-solving projects.
Key Qualifications

Minimum education for this position is a Bachelor / Masters in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, with demonstrated experience in technical engineering organization. Preferably worked in the Electrical industry.

7+ years of experience with multinational engineering organizations.

Required Skills

Hands-on knowledge of Value Engineering principles & its deployment, Knowledge on electrical products such as LV/MV switchgear, Breakers, Busway System.

Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to clearly communicate to internal/external customers and suppliers.

Ability to work & interact with global cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
