About the Role

This is a senior leadership position responsible for defining engineering strategy, providing technical oversight, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products on time.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of telecom protocols, mobile core network architecture, and roaming services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineering Strategy: Define and implement an engineering strategy that aligns with business goals and objectives.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide deep technical oversight in telecom protocols, mobile core network architecture, and roaming services.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product management, sales, and customer delivery teams to ensure seamless product delivery.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Drive customer satisfaction across a wide deployment base while ensuring revenue and roadmap commitments are delivered on time with high quality.
Technical Expertise
  • Telecom Protocols: SS7, Diameter, GTP, MAP, SIP, SCTP
  • Mobile Core Network Architecture: 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G
  • Roaming Services: Voice, SMS, Data, IoT/M2M
  • Signalling Flow Analysis: Troubleshoot complex call/session scenarios
  • In-Path Product Design: Design products meeting latency, uptime, redundancy, and high-availability standards
  • CI/CD Deployment Methodologies: Implement efficient deployment methodologies
  • Emerging Technologies: GenAI technologies to boost efficiency and optimize costs
People & Operational Leadership
  • Mentorship: Build, mentor, and retain a high-caliber globally distributed engineering team
  • Culture Building: Foster a collaborative and innovative engineering culture
  • Best Practices: Implement best practices in software development, DevOps, and agile methodologies
  • Resource Management: Manage budgets, resources, and delivery timelines effectively
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field
  • Experience: 20+ years in software engineering with at least 8 years in senior leadership roles
  • Domain Expertise: Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade software in telecom roaming and core network domains
  • Technical Knowledge: Expert-level knowledge of SS7, Diameter, GTP, MAP, SIP, SCTP, and mobile core architectures
  • Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience in roaming service development, interconnect billing, and signalling troubleshooting
  • Trend Awareness: Strong understanding of emerging trends such as IoT/M2M roaming and 5G service enablement
  • Distributed Team Management: Demonstrated ability to manage distributed teams and deliver complex products to global telecom operators
