Senior Cloud Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer - Cloud to join our Global Hosting Team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud engineering, virtualization, Wintel, Linux, and storage technologies. This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and implement scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions that align with our company's goals and business requirements.

• Design and implement cloud architecture solutions that meet the company's strategic objectives and business needs.
• Create scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure.
• Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services and technologies.
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
• Implement automation strategies for deployment and management.
• Streamline cloud deployments using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Ensure cloud environments adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Implement security measures such as encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and network security.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Analyze spending and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Implement cost management tools and practices.

Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in cloud engineering and design, with a strong understanding of virtualization, Wintel, Linux, and storage technologies.

Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

Virtualization Technologies: Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, and Azure VMware Solution (AVS).

Infrastructure Components: Proficiency in Wintel infrastructure components, including networking, storage, and security.

Linux Operating Systems: Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, and CentOS.

Storage Technologies: Experience with storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, and cloud-based storage solutions.

DevOps Practices: Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and configuration management.

Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or similar.

Additional Certifications: Additional certifications in security, networking, or DevOps are a plus.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud engineering or a related role.

Proven Track Record: Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale cloud solutions.

Mentorship: Experience in leading and mentoring technical teams.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Prioritization: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Bachelor's Degree: A bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

Masters Degree: A masters degree is preferred but not required.

Cloud Management Tools: Proficiency in cloud management and monitoring tools.

IaC Tools: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.

Security Best Practices: Familiarity with security best practices and tools for cloud environments.

Service Principals: Knowledge of managing service principals and permissions in cloud environments, including Azure Active Directory and role-based access control (RBAC).

Red Hat Satellite Servers: Experience with Red Hat Satellite Servers for system management and automation.
