Cloud Architect Lead

This role is for a seasoned Cloud Architect who can lead a team of engineers to design and deploy large-scale cloud-based systems.

About the Job:

  • We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect with a strong background in designing and deploying cloud-based solutions.
  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud computing platforms, such as Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure.
  • They will also have experience with DevOps practices, including automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Apart from this they should be able to work on Data Migration using tools like IBM DataStage and ETL.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Provide solution architecture support to projects to ensure that solutions meet business needs.
  • Analyse legacy systems and propose plans for their dismantling.
  • Lead a team of data engineers and take technical lead responsibilities for assigned projects.
  • Evaluate new technology products and oversee technology design governance.
  • Mentor less-experienced members of staff, promoting an understanding of architectures and technologies.
  • Monitor team progress and deliver optimal solutions that meet client requirements.

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of cloud architecture on GCP, AWS or Azure.
  • Proficiency in Google Cloud and Cloud Native technologies.
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders and drive business discussions.
  • Complex business decision-making experience considering long-term risks and implications.
  • DevOps and automation design experience.
  • Experience with ETL tools like IBM DataStage.
  • Experience in Hadoop/Hive, Solution Architecture, BigQuery, Google Analytics, Data Flow, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, QlikSense, Spark.
  • Programming languages PL-SQL, SQL, Unix Scripting, Java, Python.
  • Operating Systems Windows 2000/NT, Unix, Linux.
  • Able to work in Agile environments and have Scrum Master experience.
  • Experience in building business intelligence solutions.
